Katy Baxter

Katy is an Associate and specialist Employment Lawyer at DTI Lawyers. She joined the firm in 2015.

In addition to her employment law expertise, Katy also has civil and criminal litigation experience as a previous member of one of the South Island’s largest law firms, and for a specialist family law firm based in Hamilton.

Katy’s broad litigation background provides her with a range of skills and a well-rounded perspective to advise both employers and employees on employment law issues. Katy is skilled in proactively pursuing the prompt resolution of disputes through direct negotiation and mediation or other dispute resolution forums, as required.

Katy’s employment law expertise includes:

• Advising employer and employee clients on a full range of employment law matters including the resolution of personal grievances, disciplinary action, performance management, restructuring and redundancies, employment implications in business sales, restraints, confidentiality and IP protection, privacy issues, drafting and advising on employment agreements, policies and procedures;
